Petrolheads can’t get enough of one of the 210 ever-made Ferrari LaFerrari Apertas recently spotted in South Africa.

According to F1rst Motors, the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is one of Ferrari’s big five and is considered one of the ultimate track-focused hypercars ever made.

Popular car spotter RTM Supercars South Africa shared some of the car’s photos as they credited The Drive Chronicle for bringing back one of the fastest cars in the world to South Africa.

Taking to Instagram, RTM Supercars South Africa posted, “LAFERRARI APERTA BACK IN SA. The Pagani Imola has left SA, but the guys from @thedrivechronicle replaced it in SA with this immaculate LaFerrari Aperta.”

Photos of the car have gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped on the internet. Against the post, Mzansi has been trying to connect the dots about the car’s owner but to no avail.

Over the years, the open-top guise of the LaFerrari has become one of the most sought-after hypercars in the world, but how much is it? The Ferrari LaFerrari has a base price of R108 million ($5.8 million) in several dealerships dotted across the globe.

However, hypercar prices have ballooned over the years due to exclusivity. According to reports, a Ferrari LaFerrari with 174 miles recently sold for R130 million ($7 million). However, another Ferrari LaFerrari fetched R186 million ($10 million) in an auction.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is an open-top version of the LaFerrari, unveiled in 2016. Only 210 units made it on the market. However, upon unveiling, 200 units were made available on the market. Nine units were reserved for Ferrari’s 70th anniversary.

However, one of the 210 ever-made Ferrari LaFerrari was sold at auction in 2017.

  • It has a top speed of 350 km/h.
  • Rear mid-mounted Ferrari F140 V12 engine
  • 663 lb-ft of torque – making it one of the most powerful cars ever built
  • Seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission

Moreover, Ferrari claims that the LaFerrari can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

However, the LaFerrari does not only have the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta line under its flagship model. Some of the models under the LaFerrari flagship include:

  • FXX-K (2015–2017)
  • FXX-K Evo (2017–2019)

Undoubtedly, the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta joins a host of rare Ferraris spotted in South Africa in recent months. However, some of the spotted Ferraris include:

  • ‘One of the 80 ever-made’ – R22.3 million Ferrari 599 SA Aperta
  • R10m Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta
  • R14m Ferrari SF90 Spider
  • R18 million Ferrari 599 GTO
  • R13 million – First customer-owned Ferrari Purosangue in South Africa
