“Rachel Kolisi Reflects on Her Remarkable Experience at Paris Fashion Week”

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi’s wife, Rachel, was shocked by what she saw at the Paris Fashion Week in France.

 

Siya Kolisi’s wife, Rachel, reacted after she walked past the venue of the Paris Fashion Week in Spain on 25 January.

The Paris Fashion Week is a series of designer presentations held semiannually in Paris, France, with spring/summer and autumn/winter events each year.

Many designers bring their best collections, and fans would stand in the streets trying to see them. Rachel Kolisi experienced this as she walked past the venue, unaware of what was happening. She was surprised to see so many people in the streets as she walked.

She took videos and shared them on her Instagram, expressing how crazy it was to see it live.

“So crazy to see it in real life.”

Rachel said that she did not know that such an event was going on when she went that route. Instead, she was doing her rounds when she met many fans waiting to see celebrities.

Sharing on her Instagram, she was surprised with what she saw at the Paris Fashion Week. “Forgot it’s Paris Fashion Weekand walked past the venue for the @fendi show today. Everyone waiting for celebrities” she said.

FASHION INSPIRATIONS

As many celebrities and designers came to Paris Fashion Week with their outfits, some reflected. Adeju Thompson, founder and designer “People construct expectations about what African design is; but when they see Lagos Space Programme, they realise it might not conform with that idea.”

“To me, it was quite exciting to take traditional crafts and textiles and put them into a modern context,” she said.

The designers Jeremie Egry, Aurélien Arbet and Jose Lamali also discussed the Paris Fashion Week. “We certainly do not intend to stop, but to gather our thoughts so that we can bounce back better next June,” they said, reflecting on their journey.
