So, why did Rachel return to South Africa? Well, she was in town for a Finding the Light Foundation event at the Artscape Theatre Centre in Foreshore, Cape Town. This was in support of The Kolisi Foundation.

The Kolisi Foundation was founded by Siya and Rachel in March 2020. The vision is to change the stories of inequality in South Africa, to see thriving communities. Liyema and Liphelo joined Rachel at the event. The mom of two also shared a screenshot of one of her typos while speaking to one of the siblings and their hilarious response. Take a look…

SIYA KOLISI’S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS SIBLINGS

The Springboks captain shares a mother with Liyema and Liphelo. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2009. According to Two Ocean’s Vibe, their father also passed away and they were out of touch from their big brother. This left his two siblings bouncing from orphanages to foster homes for years before Siya and Rachel were financially stable enough to adopt them in 2014.

According to Kaya FM, the Springboks captain found his siblings in foster care in Zwide – a township in Gqeberha.

“My little sister didn’t know me. She had been crawling when I last saw her. I told the woman taking care of them that I was going to take them for December holidays that year, which I did. But afterwards I said I can’t send them back,” he said to The Guardian.

“I had to go through a legal process, which I started after that holiday. It took about 18 months, but I finally legally adopted them,” he continued.

South African-born comedian Trevor Noah has paid tribute to Siya after he was named in TIME Magazine’s illustrious TIME100 list for 2024.
