SECRET BEHIND FOUR PENALTY SAVES

The Bafana Bafana captain, Ronwen Williams upset Cape Verde when he saved four penalties, out of five in the AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) game.

Diski Times reports that the talented goalkeeper credited team analyst, Sinesipho Mali after his four penalty saves. He added that he was well-prepared for the game against Cape Verde.

“You know the analyst, he studied the penalties, they sent me so many penalties. Credit to the analyst as well.”

Wiliams added that the quarterfinals game was the best day in his career. He doesn’t think anything can top the Cape Verde game unless they win the AFCON.

RONWEN WILLIAMS: ‘I’M OVER THE MOON’

Ronwen Williams stole the spotlight when he thwarted penalties by Cape Verde’s Bebe, Willy Semedo, Laros Duarte, and Bryan Teixeira in the quarterfinals.

The captain and goalkeeper told the SABC after the game that he’s over the moon and filled with joy.

“I’m filled with joy, happiness. Not for the penalties but for the team. We deserve it, we fought so hard to the end. We keep fighting 120 and plus minutes, almost 130 minutes.

Leadership reports that South Africa will face Nigeria in the semifinals on Wednesday, 7 February at 19:00.
