She is older than we thought. Award-winning singer Sho Madjozi’s age has left South Africans puzzled after being revealed.

BET award-winning singer Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegrif – best known as Sho Madjozi – is topping trends against the backdrop of her birthday.

The celebrated singer turned a year older, and Mzansi was puzzled by her age. How old is Sho Madjozi, after all?

SHO MADJOZI’S AGE REVEALED

With a career spanning years, she has fast become one of the most sought-after singers in South Africa and has headlined several shows across the globe.

However, despite being one of the most followed stars, she has managed to keep her private life under wraps, leaving many to guess. The 32-year-old star was born on 9 May 1992 in Limpopo, South Africa.

Against the news of her birthday, fans and fellow celebrities flooded their feeds with warm birthday wishes. However, many were convinced that Sho Madjozi looked younger than her age.

Over the years, she has celebrated her birthday with lavish parties. For her 31st birthday celebrations, she had an African-themed birthday party. The birthday theme was ‘The African Union’, and all the guests wore African-themed outfits. All the guests understood the assignment.

However, Sho Madjozi celebrated her 30th birthday with a big bash in her village in Limpopo. She ditched her usual glitz and glamour celebrations for a community bash. Singing and dancing competitions were part of the celebrations. However little is known if there is any on the cards this year.

She had her foot in the industry when she collaborated with rapper Okmalumkoolkat on his smash hits Ngiyashisa Bhe and Gqi. However, in 2017, she joined the star-studded cast of Isithembiso. Sho Madjozi played the on-screen character of Tsakane Mboweni.

Sho Madjozi released her debut single, Dumi HiPhone, in 2017. She released her debut album with lead single Huku, thrusting her into top trends. Since then, she has been winning big.

Over the years, Sho Madjozi has become one of the most followed South African celebrities. Her huge social media following has seen her securing several endorsement deals.

Apart from that, she has headlined several shows across the globe and has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Chris Martin, Jay Z and Beyonce.

In 2019, Sho Madjozi went on to drop John Cena, and the track was a smash hit. Against the song’s success, she appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show. During the show, the celebrated wrestler gave a surprise appearance.

However, over the years, she has capped her career with several accolades, which include the Best Gqom Artist award.
