‘Shouldn’t have cheated’: Khaya Mthethwa dragged over co-parenting tweet.
Former ‘Idols SA’ winner-turned-preacher Khaya Mthethwa was dragged on X after sharing his co-parenting struggles…
Former Idols South Africa winner Khaya Mthethwa – the ex-husband of beauty queen Ntando Kunene – has been reminded of his alleged past transgressions after he posted a tweet about co-parenting.
The gospel singer won the eighth season of the TV singing talent competition, becoming the show’s first-ever black winner.
In 2019, Khaya split from Ntando – a former Miss South Africa – after just two years of marriage. They share a son Oyinkosi, together.
Khaya returned to his love of gospel music and is now a senior pastor at the Oasis Church in Durban.
KHAYA MTHETHWA DRAGGED OVER TWEET
Over the weekend, Khaya Mthethwa tweeted about some of the struggles of being a divorced dad. He posted: “Count it a blessing to live with your child… drop offs are so heartbreaking”.

Of co-parenting with his ex Ntando Kunene, he told a follower: “I still struggle with the guilt.
“My heart always breaks when they start crying.”
Although a few tweeps sympathised with Khaya, others blamed him for being the reason behind his “broken home.”
@mstamaar: “You’re the one who proudly told God that you don’t wanna get married anymore. You didn’t want your family anymore. YOU ASKED GOD FOR THIS”
@TraderZ412: “Haibo Khaya, be serious. Oyinkosi now lives two lives cause his dad chose the streets.”
@Queen_Tsholo8: “You broke your own home. Live with it!!
@Mabongilesi: “If you stayed faithful to your wife, you wouldn’t be here.”
@MellowStardust: “Shouldn’t have cheated.”
@Baarata7: “Oh, if it isn’t the consequences of your own actions.”
‘I DON’T WANT TO BE MARRIED ANYMORE’
In December 2017, Khaya Mthethwa married former Miss SA Ntando Kunene. At the time, the couple had dated for just three months.
Two years later, the couple – who welcomed a son, Oyinkosi – announced their shock split in a vague statement.
According to Khaya, the new marriage was fraught with “challenges” the couple could not overcome.
While neither Ntando nor Khaya has ever mentioned those challenges, the latter has been accused of being unfaithful in the past. According to Sunday World, Khaya split from actress Nomzamo Mbatha in 2015 after allegedly having an affair with her best friend Jessica Nkosi.
In a clip posted on Twitter, Khaya Mthethwa revealed how he “told God” he “knew” he didn’t want to be married barely a year after his wedding. The clip was allegedly taken from Khaya’s sermon at the Assemblies of God Church in Sandton.
He said: “When I said to God, I don’t think I want to be married anymore. I told God that in January. I’m like, ‘I think I’m done.’”.
