Sindi Dlathu bids farewell to The River.

South African actress Sindiswa Dlathu, better known as Sindi Dlathu, says goodbye to her most beloved character, Lindiwe Dlamini, also known as Madlabantu, whom she has played on the TV series The River since 2018.

News about the show being in its final season came last year after the executive producer Photo Makwarela at Tshedza Pictures told channel 1Magic,

“When we created The River seven years ago, we knew that we wanted to tell a story that would have a definite ending. Now in its sixth season, we feel the time is right to bring the story of these beloved characters to an end, on our own terms and when viewers still treasure the show. As the saying goes, ‘a good dancer always knows when to leave the stage,’ and now it’s that time for The River season 6.”

The actress, who joined host Jabulani Macdonald on X (formerly Twitter) spaces alongside her co-stars Ferry Jele, who played Veronica, and Tsholofelo Matshaba, who played Kedibone, went on the platform to go down memory lane and give listeners a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes of shooting the telenovela, according to BrieflyNews.

X users joined host Jabulani in a Q&A session with the three co-stars to discuss the show.

When asked how she was feeling about the show coming to an end Sindi says, “It’s a bittersweet moment and I can’t say that I am well, and when I got the script I was so excited given that the character was a very powerful figure.
