“I’ve decided to give the Thandaza character a break in order for me to grow as an artist, venture out to explore new opportunities, and discover what I can do as an actress and as a human being,” Sindi said in a statement announcing her decision to leave the drama series.

The show creators opted not to eliminate the character, choosing instead to leave the possibility of a comeback open. An actor who spoke to ZiMoja on condition of anonymity said it is hard to plan their lives especially around this time of the year when one works for Muvhango. “We are concerned. Month end is slowly approaching and no one is saying anything to us. We don’t know whether we should start looking for jobs elsewhere or if we must just wait and hope our contracts get renewed,” the actor said.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has officially signed a contract for Season 26 of the popular soap opera Muvhango, promising a significant transformation for the show.
