Suicide note discovered in deceased’s vehicle in Osindisweni

In Osindisweni, KwaZulu-Natal, a tragic incident unfolded when the lifeless body of a Phoenix resident was found next to a suicide note in their vehicle. A concerned farmer made the discovery and promptly reached out to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance at 08:03.

RUSA’s Reaction Officers and Paramedics swiftly responded to the distress call and met the farmer on a gravel road. Together, they ventured about 500 meters off-road to an isolated spot within a sugar cane farm.

There, they discovered the lifeless body of a male hanging from a tree, with his grey Renault Kiger parked nearby. The suicide note, distressingly, was written on a receipt for the rope used in the tragic event, and it included information about the deceased’s spouse, including contact details.

RUSA personnel contacted the partner of the deceased, who revealed that he had left their home on Saturday and had not returned since. The receipt for the rope bore the same date. The motive behind this heartbreaking act remains unclear.
