‘System is bull****’: Jub Jub livid after vote is ‘denied’
‘Uyajola 9/9’ host Jub Jub says he was ‘denied’ a right to vote in the elections after going to a polling station where he was not registered
Jub Jub – real name Molemo Maarohanye – was one of many South Africans who were unable to vote in the general elections after going to a station where they were not registered.
The musician—who presents Moja Love’s reality TV show Uyajola 9/9—shared his annoyance on his Instagram Stories.
JUB JUB ANNOYED AFTER VOTE IS DENIED
On Wednesday, 29 May, Jub Jub visited his nearest polling station to cast his vote. However, the TV personality was turned away.
He shared in an IG Story: “This system is bullsh*t. If you out of town and travelling, you can’t vote in another town”.
Jub Jub then continued in a foul-mouthed rant at the government.
According to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), citizens could only vote at the station where they were registered. A voter travelling outside of their district during the elections was encouraged to apply for a Section24A vote.
The IEC website clearly states that citizens “must notify the Electoral Commission by completing an online Section 24A form to inform us in which voting district you would like to vote on voting day. By capturing the address where you will be, the system will identify the relevant voting district”.
FIKS THE COOK: ‘I AM BEING SABOTAGED’
Jub Jub wasn’t the only high-profile person who was left disappointed at the polling station.
South African celebrity chef Fikile Zungu, also known as Fikz, has spoken out about being “denied” her right to vote abroad in Belgium, where she is based.
In a video message posted on X, Fiks – who boasts celebrity clientele like DJ Zinhle – revealed she had registered to vote abroad.
The chef is employed at South Africa’s Embassy in Belgium, where she has worked for the last 14 years. According to Fiks, her employers had informed her that everything was above board ahead of the elections.
However, Fikz was later told that she was not on the list of registered voters at the Belgian Embassy.

Fikz shared a screenshot of an official complaint she had filed with IEC Commissioner Glen Mashinini.
Part of it read: “I find the Embassy’s actions as gross injustice. [It is also] personal because the Embassy fired me three and a half years ago. Therefore, I feel that I am being sabotaged personally. The Embassy has never made any effort to find out what the problem was
She added: “I sit here in tears…Why am I being punished…[by taking] away my democratic right?”
In response to Fikz’s tweet, the official account of the IEC South Africa questioned the chef if she had applied for a VEC10 notice, which is required to vote out of the country.
To which Fikz responded: “No one told me about this…I don’t even know what it is.”
