With the crime rate soaring up each day in South Africa, gospel singer and pastor Thinah Zungu counts his blessings as he was no exception to being a victim after he and his family were robbed at gunpoint inside their home by unknown thugs who broke away with his car and belongings recently.

As Daily Sun reported, ‘ubhuti westezi’ (as he is fondly known on social media), was in for a shock when he was robbed by five suspects who forced entry at his double-storey house in Inanda, north of Durban. It is further said that the thugs them in one room while invading their personal space, earlier this week.

The Nginguthandiwe singer told the publication that he is still reeling in shock and confusion after his wife and kids had to witness an armed robbery in their home.

“The thugs pointed guns at us and forced us to one room where they locked us and started to steal what they wanted to steal. They stole my clothes, gadgets, TV, watches and many more and loaded them on my BMW car and ran away,” Thinah recalled.

His vehicle was later discovered while other stolen belongings have not been recovered.

KZN police spokesperson constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo confirmed there was a house robbery at Thinah’s home.

“Police in Inanda are investigating a case of house robbery following an incident in which unknown men allegedly entered the house of a 35-year-old man on June 3, 2024 and pointed him with a firearm before ransacking his house,” the constable said.
