THIRD suspect named in Olorato Mongale murder case
Police have officially added a third suspect in connection with the murder of the 30-year-old Olorato.
Her body was discovered in Lombardy, near Alexandra in the north of Joburg, on Sunday, 25 May.
Bongani Mthimkhulu, a known associate of one of the original suspects, Philangenkosi Sibongokuhle Makhanya, has now been added to the police list of wanted individuals.
Mthimkhulu is seen wearing a white top in the circulated photograph provided by investigators. He’s considered a person of interest and is wanted for questioning as part of the ongoing murder investigation.
According to national police spokeswoman Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the manhunt has entered a critical and sensitive stage, with law enforcement intensifying efforts to track down all three suspects.
“Investigations are continuing and the search for all suspects has reached a critical and sensitive stage,” said Mathe.
She also extended appreciation to members of the public who have assisted thus far.
“Thank you to all victims who have come forward and those who have called Brigadier Nama with information on the suspects’ movements for their cooperation,” said Mathe.
The police have urged anyone with further information to come forward and report sightings or tips immediately. The suspects are considered dangerous, and the public is advised not to approach them.
The other two suspects previously named by police are Fezile Ngubane and Philangenkosi Sibongokuhle Makhanya.
