Uncle Waffles – born Lungelihle Zwane – is trending against the backdrop of her birthday. Social media was abuzz as fans flooded the Swazi-born DJ’s feeds with heartfelt birthday wishes.

No doubt she has been winning big since her thrust into the limelight. However, against her newfound, Uncle Waffles had managed to keep her private life under wraps, leaving many to guess even about her age.

UNCLE WAFFLES’ AGE REVEALED

Taking Instagram, Uncle Waffles revealed that she was 24 years old. She was born on 30 March 2000 in Eswatini. However, her post has gained thousands of comments and reactions from fans and fellow celebrities.

Little is known about whether Uncle Waffles will throw a birthday party. Over the years, she has celebrated her birthdays with lavish parties.

Dubbed the ‘princess of amapiano’ with Billboard, Uncle Waffles has won big since her thrust into the limelight. She has quickly become one of the most sought-after DJs, making Europe her playing ground. She has also rubbed shoulders with several international A-listers.

Against the backdrop of her newfound fame, she has headlined several shows across the globe. Uncle Waffles has it that she learned how to DJ in 2020 during COVID-19 lockdowns. In one of her interviews, she said she practised eight hours daily.

Her video dancing to Adiwele by Young Stunna during her set at Zone 6 nightclub in Soweto thrust her into the limelight. She spread her wings to music a year later with her debut single, Tanzania.

Rolling Stone described her as the ‘ambassador of amapiano’ after Tanzania was ranked eighth best Afropop song of 2022. Maximag, a British publication, named Uncle Waffles as one of the top breakthrough DJs of 2022. In 2023, Uncle Waffles dropped her second EP, Asylum, released in March 2023.

In the wake of her shot to fame, she had the opportunity to be on BBC Radio 1. However, in 2022, Uncle Waffles was also the only DJ to perform at the Global Citizen Festival in Accra.

She has capped her career with several accomplishments, from reaching 7xPlatinum with her single Tanzania to winning the GQ Men of the Year Awards. Her smash hit Yahyuppuyah from Asylum EP went RISA 4xPlatinum.

In 2022, she was nominated for Best African DJ, Best Female Artist in Southern Africa and Best DJ Africa. Uncle Waffles went on to win Best DJ Africa. She has had nominations for the BET Awards, MOBO Awards, and Headies Awards.
