Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “As we are departing in a few days, I think I’m a little nervous, but I’m more excited because I’ve had this dream of seeing myself on the Miss World stage for a long time.”

Renowned designer Otiz Seflo crafted two breathtaking dresses, one with a sheik African feel and the other paying homage to the rain queens of Limpopo.

A new addition, The Claude Jumpsuit, designed by ITU Golf Wear Founder, Innocentia Motau, was also unveiled for her active wear during the trip.

Handling the immense pressure that comes with representing her country on a global stage, the 24-year-old beauty queen remains undaunted.

BEAUTY WITH A CAUSE

“I see it as the wave is there, we just ride it. It’s not heavy [the pressure]. It’s just that people are excited about the things South Africans have been able to do,” she said.

Beyond the glitz and glamour of the Miss World pageant, Dr. Mashego is the founder of the Young Leaders Network. This is a non-profit organization focused on leadership and entrepreneurship.

Her message to young South African women is powerful: “We need to start showing up like we know we deserve to be in those spaces.”
