Watch: Cheslin Kolbe celebrates Tyla, Bafana & Dricus: South African excellence

Double World Cup winner Cheslin Kolbe says South Africa is ‘blessed and has so much to be proud of’ with the ways things are going at the moment.

Springbok star Cheslin Kolbe has waxed lyrical about the winning streak South Africa finds itself on at the moment.
Kolbe played a key role in the Springboks’ double World Cup success in Japan (2019) and France (2023) and it seems their good fortune has rubbed off on other South Africans representing the country internationally.

Since the Springboks’ RWC triumph, the Proteas went on to reach the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup, Dricus du Plessis became the first South African to be crowned UFC champion, Bafana Bafana made to the Afcon semi-finals for the first time in 24 years and pop sensation Tyla bagged a Grammy Award at the age of just 22 for her hit song ‘Water’.

Additionally, South Africa were also the winners of the 2023 World Sheep Shearing Championships.

Many would even argue that South Africa’s landmark case against Israel at the International Court of Justice at The Hague and the court’s subsequent ruling in favour of the Republic, is also part of RSA’s remarkable winning streak on a global level.

And on Monday, the rugby star took time out to celebrate the country’s winning streak and to congratulate the individuals for their excellence, bar none.

Cheslin Kolbe shared a three-picture carousel on his official Instagram account featuring Tyla with her Grammy, Dricus du Plessis lifting his UFC championship belt and a Bafana Bafana graphic.

“We are blessed South Africa! So much to be proud of,” Cheslin Kolbe wrote on the Instagram post in which he tagged Tyla, Du Plessis and the official Bafana page.

Tyla features in the Springbok’s carousel.

Cheslin Kolbe also singled out Dricus du Plessis.
