Showing off while behind the wheel of a 789-horsepower McLaren Senna is not a good idea.

In a trending video that has set social media abuzz, an LA driver found out the hard way after he lost control of the R30 million supercar in California before ramming into a Lexus dealership on the roadside.

ONE OF THE 500 EVER-MADE MCLAREN SENNAS CRASHES IN LA

The now-viral video has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet. Little is known about when the incident happened, but the video went viral earlier this week.

The McLaren Senna was rolling down Ventura Boulevard in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, California, before performing a doughnut for onlookers taking videos of the car.

The McLaren went on to peel out down the road before losing control and swerving into a Lexus dealership. No doubt the McLaren Senna’s carbon fibre body kit was wrecked after the incident.

WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL AND RARE?

On 10 December 2017, McLaren unveiled the car online. The car was officially launched at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show a year later. The car is arguably one of the fastest cars in the world, with a top speed of 340km/h. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach 200km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The McLaren Senna’s production was made in honour of Formula 1 driver Ayton Senna, who won three driver’s championships with McLaren. Only 500 automobile units made it to the market.

Surprisingly, one of the 500 ever-made McLaren Sennas was spotted in South Africa earlier this year. Autogespot South Africa and RTM Supercars South Africa shared photos of the car on social media. Months later, Mzansi has yet to connect the dots about the car’s owner.

However, the last listed Senna in South Africa had a price tag of R30 million in 2020. The car was arguably the only McLaren Senna in South Africa.

OTHER LIMITED MODELS

McLaren boasts several limited editions, which include:

McLaren Senna LM

Only five units of the McLaren LM made it to the market. All five made their way to the United States.

McLaren Senna GTR

However, there are only 75 units in the world.

McLaren Sabre

Only 15 units of the McLaren Sabre made it to the market; 12 are in the United States, and one is in Lebanon. However, the location of the other two is unknown.
