THATO DITHEBE: NEW ROLE

The 23-year-old House of Zwide star tells Sowetan that his Champions character, Lebogang is from Pretoria and a football player.

“I’m often mistaken to be from Pretoria, maybe because of Neo, the character I play on House of Zwide, that people feel that I’m from the capital city,” said the actor from Mogale City, Krugersdorp in the West Rand.

“My second role on Champions, Lebogang Serite, is also from Pretoria and because I’m always in character, I guess it makes it easy to pull off a convincing persona.”

The talented actor adds that his latest soccer player character wants nothing but to make it in life and become a star.

Dithebe, who was first introduced as a YoTV presenter has also secured roles on TV shows, Soul Buddyz and Rhythm City.

Sunday World reports that Champions will also feature A-list stars such as Kwenzo Ngcobo, Thembinkosi Mthembu, Tumisho Masha, Sello Maake KaNcube, Kgomotso Christopher and Jo-anne Reyneke.
