Viral sensation Skomota made headlines after he was spotted campaigning for the African National Congress (ANC).

Social media was abuzz with Skomota’s photos in ANC’s regalia with comrades. However, little is known about where the campaigns were being held.

No doubt, in the backdrop of his newfound fame, the viral sensation has quickly become a darling of many and has been busy and booked in recent months. With elections around the corner, the ruling party invited Skomota to their recent election campaign.

However, Mzansi is more than convinced that the ANC is allegedly using Skomota to appeal to the youth before the elections. On the other hand, some took a swipe at the ANC’s blatant display of voter-swaying tactics.

The now-viral photos have gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped on the internet. In some of the photos, Skomota was sleeping during the campaign.

Several political actors were quick to take a swipe at the party for using him to win votes. Mmusi Maimane jokingly revealed that Skomota was already ‘regretting.’

Undoubtedly, Skomota is not the first celebrity to openly campaign for the ANC. Over the years, the ruling party has tagged along several artists at their rallies. Artists like Makhadzi, Dr Malinga and DJ Maphorisa have performed at several ANC star rallies.
