NETIZENS REACT TO TITO MBOWENI’S LATEST LUCKY STAR PILCHARD POST

“Mara [but] why?” he captioned.

There doesn’t seems to be any suggestions on the Lucky Star website that they have brought Mboweni on board as their ambassador. At this time, it appears the tin was merely created by a mischievous social media user.

Mboweni’s fans were however in a frenzy with his post and assumed that he was indeed well on his way to becoming the brand’s new ambassador. They’ve since taken to his comment section with the funniest reactions to his post.

According to TshisaLIVE, after Mboweni posted one of his previous meals, social media users called for popular South African chef Siba Mtongana to “humbly intervene” in the matter. Best known for his excessive use of garlic, tomatoes, and onions in his recipes, the 65-year-old former politician had netizens screaming after showing off his self-made dinner.

According to the publication, Mboweni had attempted to cook a lamb stew on that occasion, a rare choice for the former minister who often cooks pilchard and chicken.

“OK Mzansi, let’s be fair. The former finance minister’s cooking is improving drastically. You have to have ‘faith’. No need for intervention from me…

“Besides the size of garlic and onion, give him some kudos, please bahlali [people]. He’s really trying and improving. I mean the lamb stew this time around doesn’t look too bad?” the acclaimed chef was quoted as saying.
