Watch: Itu Khune heaps praise on Ronwen Williams

Itumeleng Khune has admitted that Ronwen Williams is Bafana Bafan’s best-ever goalkeeper after the latter broke several records at Afcon.

Itumeleng Khune wants South Africans to know that it’s all love and respect between him and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and coach Ronwen Williams.

On Saturday, 10 February, Williams helped the South African soccer team beat Congo and win a bronze medal (third place) at Afcon.

Williams has now overtaken Andre Arendse for the most clean-sheets in a single tournament.

RONWEN WILLIAMS MAKES HISTORY

Last week, Ronwen Williams tied with former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Andre Arendse’s 1996 record of four clean sheets during an Afcon tournament.

Following his game against Congo, the 32-year-old added one more to his achievement, earning five clean sheets out of seven games played at Afcon.

Ronwen also made history by becoming the first goalkeeper to save four penalties in a single AFCON tournament.

LOVE FROM ITU KHUNE

Meanwhile, Ronwen has earned the praise of fellow Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

After SA’s third-place win, the Kaizer Chiefs player posted on his Instagram: “Thank you, skipper and the rest of the team.

“Need I say more? Five clean sheets. Best in the business!”
