Mamelodi Sundowns star Bongani Zungu took to social media to share his humble beginnings before his thrust into the limelight.

Undoubtedly, with an illustrious career spanning years, he has been dubbed one of the best players in the DStv Premier League.

Over the years, he has starred for several clubs and has capped his illustrious career with silverware. Taking to Instagram, the star shared a video while in Duduza, where he was born and bred.

He captioned his now-viral video, ‘Where it all started,’ and pinned Duduza as his location. The 31-year-old football maestro was born in the East Rand in 1992 in Duduza, west of Nigel.

The video has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet. The Mamelodi Sundowns star has hogged headlines with his unmatched flair and command of the game.

He had his shot to stardom when he was 18. No doubt his flair saw him being the most sought-after star. Over the years, Zungu has become one of the highest-paid stars in the league, according to rumour mill.

CAREER

He started off his youth career with Dynamos before making his senior debut with the University of Pretoria in 2012. Bongani Zungu joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2013 and left in 2016 for Vitoria Guimaraes.

From Vitoria Guimaraes, he joined Amiens in 2017 before leaving in 2022 for Rangers on loan. In the same year, he returned to Mamelodi Sundowns for a second stint.
