Generations: The Legacy actress Ngelekanyo Ramulodi has secured a role in Mzansi Magic’s upcoming series, Queen Modjadji.

NGELEKANYA RAMULODI: LATEST ROLE

The Queen Modjadji actress Ngelekanyo Ramulodi will star alongside former Miss South Africa winners, Shudu Musida and Ndavi Nokeri.

Ramulodi will portray the character of Young Queen Modjadji in the Mzansi Magic Sunday night drama series.

The actress also previously starred in Netflix’s Fatal Seduction, Sphiwo and Generations: The Legacy.

Bona reports that beauty queens Shudu Musida and Ndavi Nokeri, who hail from the Limpopo province will play queens in the upcoming drama series.

Nokeri will portray Muthanoni Khensani, who is one of Queen Modjadji’s wives from the Tsonga Royal Family while Musida portrays Muthanoni Mulalo another wife of the wives from the Venda Royal Family.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT ‘QUEEN MODJADJI’

DStv reveals that Queen Modjaji is produced by Rhythm World Productions, who’ve produced Sibongile and The Dlaminis, My Brother’s Keeper, Umkhokha: The Curse and many more.

The channel adds that work on Queen Modjadji is already well underway and the team behind the title has been researching and consulting with key stakeholders.

They’ve also consulted tribal leaders, and academic experts. Scripting and casting for the series is nearing completion and filming will soon start.

Muvhango creator, Duma Ndlovu who is the leading production says: “The earth, the elements, and the energy of humans connect in ways that are both physical and spiritual, both obvious and unseen.”

“Queen Modjadji was a living embodiment of this, and so we will explore what this royal title, and the women who’ve held it, have lived, sacrificed, lost, and achieved.”

Ndlovu adds that they also aim to be very entertaining with a strong episodic storyline, historical detail, set under unpredictable skies, where rain or storm, echoes what is happening in the lives of those below.
