The news of South Africa’s famous sangoma Makgotso Lee-Anne Makopo famously known as Gogo or Dr Maweni’s lobola price reached the internet, leaving many internet users stating that she paid for her lobola.
In some cultures discussing the lobola proceeds and the lobola amount is frowned upon, while others don’t have a problem with that.
The lucky man in the famous sangoma’s life is Sabelo Magube, a sangoma in his own right. Having been together for a couple of years and holidaying in the most exotic parts of the world, the couple does not seem to have money issues.
The lobola news circulated on different social media platforms including the popular blog Maphephandaba, who went as far as asking the famous sangoma how much her husband Sabelo was charged by her family.
Asked by the blog’s administrator how much her lobola was, Gogo Maweni laughed off and added:
“It was 150K but there’s still cows remaining which will be paid out before the wedding.”
Upon seeing the post, internet users shared their comments with many citing that the rumoured richest sangoma in mzansi had paid her own lobola. They shared:
“She gave him the 150k to Lobola her.”
Another user congratulated the mother of three commenting:
“The only sangoma I can consult because you can see she uses her boo sangoma to enrich herself….anyways congratulations Gogo”
