‘When you think it’s over, it starts again’: Kelly Khumalo on Meyiwa trial
Songstress and reality TV star Kelly Khumalo has briefly opened up about the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
Musician Kelly Khumalo has revealed that she no longer watches the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
The songstress – who was in a romantic relationship with the late footballer when he was killed at her family home in Vosloorus, Gauteng, in 2014 – was speaking about the murder trial on Ukhozi FM.

Asked by the radio station’s Selby “Selbyonce” Mkhize on Woza Nabangani Bakho about whether or not she watches the trial, Khumalo said she doesn’t.
“I used to in the beginning, but not anymore because for me to keep sane and for me to remain in a place of faith and trusting God, I have to stay away from the noise and wait for God to prevail,” she said during her interview on the isiZulu radio station.
The Ngathwala Ngaye hitmaker said that the Meyiwa murder trial opened up old wounds.
“It becomes a reminder of something that didn’t sit right with you at all. When you think it’s over, it starts again, so you must stay away, for your mental health, and wait for God’s time. God is not a man that he should lie, so you remain and hold on to that and trust the process, ” she said.

KELLY KHUMALO ALLEGEDLY ORDERED HIT ON MEYIWA
Meyiwa, who was an Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, was shot and killed on 26 October 2014.
Khumalo; her sister, Zandile; Zandile’s boyfriend, Longwe Twala; the singers’ mother, Ntombi Khumalo; and two of Meyiwa’s friends, Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala, were all in the house that fateful day.
In January, Khumalo was implicated as the person who allegedly ordered her boyfriend Meyiwa’s killing. The information is contained in lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda’s affidavit which was read at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
“It was further discovered that, through cellphone analysis, her cellphone memory album has the same photo of a see-through bag containing cash notes and in the exact position or location or spot as that of accused number three,” Gininda said at the time.
ACCUSED’S CELLPHONE NUMBER ALLEGEDLY LINKED TO SINGER
During the trial last week, retired mobile data analyst Colonel Gideon Gouws testified about accused number five, Fisokuhle Ntuli’s cellphone information which he linked to Khumalo.
“Then I discovered Kelly Khumalo with number 082… She receives a call from Ntuli Fisokuhle 073..202,” said Gouws in court.
However, through his lawyer Advocate Zandile Mshololo, Ntuli denied Gouws’ testimony.
“It is not correct that the accused five called Kelly Khumalo. The state knows it is not the truth,” Mshololo said.
