Why actress Luyanda Zwane left Sibongile & Dlaminis!

According to the Daily Sun, Mzansi Magic has revealed the actress who will play the part of Sibongile in Sibongile and the Dlaminis.

Nsikelelo Mthiyane is the new Sibongile, according to Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net. She is scheduled to make her debut in Season 2 in June 2024.
The actress is relatively fresh to the acting industry.

Luyanda Zwane, who previously portrayed the role, won over people’s hearts with her exceptional acting. When the young actress revealed that she quit Mzansi Wethu’s highly popular soap, which airs Monday through Wednesday, it shocked a lot of people.

Luyanda has acknowledged that she has a lot on her plate and that she is supporting more modelling and acting projects.”The love that TV viewers have shown is amazing. Sibongile is down to earth but goes for what she wants. She’s a strong young woman who can face any challenge. Playing the character helped me grow, and I’m celebrated because of Sibongile. I acted alongside legends like Siyabonga Shibe (Njengaye), Slindile Nodangala (Deliwe) and others. I’ll always be grateful, ” said Luyanda

She said she left the show to focus on other things.”I have a lot to do. Doors have opened and are still opening for me. I’ve signed big deals, and as a model, I’ve been contracted to advertise different products,” said Luyanda, aged 20, from Durban” she said.

Although there had been rumours that this rising star intended to quit in 2023, the show’s producers pleaded with her to stay after making multiple attempts to locate a replacement.She accepted to stay, but it’s said that after a while she had second thoughts and desired to remain indefinitely so she could participate in season two. Sadly, the agreement and contract about her leaving had already been finalised, so it was too late.

“When I make up my mind, I don’t change. I decided to leave because I had thought about it. I’m still young and energetic, so I want to explore a lot of things. People will always talk, and I don’t have time for negative comments,” said Luyanda.

The actress and model made her TV debut in Durban Gen season two as teenage girl Lelo.
She played mischievous Nomonde on BET’s Redemption in 2023 before joining Shaka ILembe. The actress appeared on Netflix’s Classified, Showmax’s Outlaws, and Netflix’s Miseducation.

She confidently declared her determination to soar to new heights, tirelessly honing her acting skills and expanding her personal brand.
