AKA was murdered in Durban on 10 February 2023. His friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane – who was a celebrity chef — was also killed in the incident.

Over a year later, the South African Police Services (SAPS) revealed that seven suspects were arrested in connection with the alleged hit.

Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, 30, Lindani Shishela Ndimande, 35, Siyanda Myeza, 21, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, 36, and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande, 29, appeared on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and five counts of attempted murder.

In addition, the state added two charges of money-laundering.

Two of the seven accused, brothers Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, are being extradited to South Africa after they were arrested in Eswatini in February.

On 15 May, when the five men in South Africa appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court, they were denied bail by Judge Vincent Hlatshwayo.
