Zuluboy in a legal battle with Umkhokha: The curse.

Actor and rapper Mxolisi Majozi, famously known as Zuluboy is said to be coming after Mzansi Magic’s Umkhokha: The Curse, after the drama series’s production company took him off the role he was casted for.

Local publication ZiMoja reported that the actor who has starred in drama productions such as Uzalo, Durban Gen and Gold Diggers was given the lead role of Mlungisi on the series which was later given to Nkanyiso Mchunu.

The production company in question Rhythm World Productions, is said to have done that without at the last hour and no explanation was given to the Nomalanga hitmaker.

The publication spoke to a production source who shared that Zuluboy lived on set for a week as he was sent to work but didn’t end up working.

The insider added, “He wasted a good five days, reading scripts and practicing and this was later changed and he was not given the role. He was made to believe he had the part and signed a contract, only to find out that Nkanyiso was given the part.”

The source continued to spill to the publication that efforts by the production to counterpart were made but they were not to the actor’s satisfaction as he decided to take the legal route.

A document from the actor’s lawyers which the publication has seen detail that the next step to be taken on the matter was to approach the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa. This is in accordance with clause 28 of the Freelance Performers agreement which was discussed on the December 12th, 2023.
