AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini reportedly headed for divorce
Reports have it that King Misuzulu kaZwelithini is divorcing one of his wives and offering R20,000 monthly maintenance for a year.
The year 2025 has started on a troubling note for King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, as reports indicate that he is headed for divorce.
Reports suggest that the King is divorcing one of his three wives. Apparently, they hadn’t lived together as a married couple for at least a year before the divorce proceedings started.
KING MISUZULU KAZWELITHINI TO DIVORCE ONE OF HIS WIVES
According to African Times, Zulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini is divorcing one of his three wives. The name of the wife in question has not been divulged to protect her children.
The outlet reports that the King cited the breakdown of their marriage as the reason for the divorce.
He reportedly filed for divorce at the Pietermaritzburg High Court in KwaZulu-Natal.
THEIR MARRIAGE WAS IRREPARABLE
In an affidavit seen by the outlet, the King stated that despite attempts to repair their relationship, the marriage had irreparably deteriorated.
“The marriage relationship between the plaintiff and the defendant has reached such a state of disintegration that there is no reasonable prospect for the restoration of a normal marriage between the parties,” the affidavit reads.
DIVORCE SETTLEMENT: MISUZULU REPORTEDLY PROPOSES R20,000 MONTHLY MAINTENANCE FOR A YEAR
The affidavit further stated that the couple has been separated for at least a year before initiating the divorce process.
It also revealed that they had not lived together as a married couple during that time.
Misuzulu has agreed to pay his wife R20,000 in monthly maintenance for one year after the divorce is finalised.
He also mentioned that some of their belongings had already been divided.
