“Ex-Generations star returns as doctor!”
TOP actress Mpume “Six” Nyamane makes a big comeback after her unexpected exit from Generations: The Legacy.
Six will be playing the lead role in the Mzansi Wethu telenovela Homecoming. This will be the first time in her acting career, and she believes it came at the right time.
The 27-year-old actress from Newcastle, KZN, dumped SABC1’s Generations: The Legacy in February and got married to her husband, Mohale Nchaupa, in April.

Six, who played Nozipho Cele in Generations: The Legacy, will be playing Dr Ntombizethu “Zethu” Hlongwane, a 28-year-old female born in the small village of Okhambeni in Bergville, KZN midlands.
Set in the scenic town of Bergville, KZN, the show tells the story of Dr Zethu Hlongwane, a top medical graduate played by Six Nyamane, who dreams of becoming one of South Africa’s few black female surgeons.
She told Daily Sun she loves spending time with family and couldn’t wait to get back into acting.
“My husband is in my corner and roots for me. Yes, this is my very first role since I left Generation: The Legacy and since I tied the knot.
“I feel absolutely stoked. I have never led on a telenovela before, and believe this role came at the right time. Two-and-a-half years on a soapie was the perfect warm-up. I couldn’t be more ready,” she said.
Six said Mzansi can expect to see a lot of range with her performance as Dr Zethu.
“They can expect honesty in how she tells her story as well drama.”
Homecoming premieres on Monday, 28 July, taking over the weekday slot previously occupied by Sibongile & The Dlaminis, which ends on Wednesday, 23 July.
