“Family of Late DJ Poizen Appeals for Assistance with Burial Costs”
TRAGEDY has struck the family of Limpopo star Caven “DJ Poizen” Masetla.
They are now appealing to Mzansi for help to lay him to rest.
The family of Limpopo-born producer DJ Poizen has appealed for assistance to give him a dignified send-off after his tragic passing in a car crash on the N1 outside Polokwane.
Speaking to Daily Sun, family spokesman Robert Masetla said the award-winning producer and former House Victimz member was the sole breadwinner, leaving the family without financial means to cover funeral costs.
“He was the breadwinner. Everyone, from his brother to his cousins and aunts, is not working.
“We are operating under a zero budget, and therefore humbly appeal for assistance through pledges and donations to help us lay him to rest with the dignity he deserves,” Robert said.
The family estimates the funeral costs at more than R150 000.
“We would appreciate any kind of help, even if it’s catering or money,” Robert said.
The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, 13 September, at Tickeyline village outside Tzaneen in Limpopo’s Mopani district.
DJ Poizen, who recently collaborated with amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small on a single set for release in November, died in the collision alongside four others, who were burnt beyond recognition.
Fellow musician DJ Chymamusique survived but sustained serious injuries.
The Masetla family has welcomed condolences and support from fans, colleagues, and friends during this difficult time.
“If you would like to make a pledge, donation, or assist the family during this difficult time, please contact Blondy Masetla (brother) at 073 649 1275 or b.masetla69@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can reach me at 081 588 3169 / 081 393 4614 or robby.masetla@gmail.com.”

- Account name: Masetla Mogale Blondy
- Bank: Standard Bank
- Account number: 10237788215

“Your messages of sympathy, presence at the services, and any assistance are gratefully received. The family thanks you in advance for your support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time,” he said.
