Last week, Lee-Ann Liebenberg’s husband, Nicky van der Walt, vowed to pay back R3,3 million in debt following a dispute with a business partner over another hospitality project.
Nicky pledged to make the substantial payment by the end of September, failing which he could face sequestration.
This follows a ruling by a Cape Town High Court judge, after property and construction company Walter Henning filed an application over their dispute of a co-suretyship agreement to secure funding for a Ritz construction project, where the former is the majority shareholder.
