Funeral of Mamelodi Cousins Killed in Shooting Underway in Limpopo
Limpopo, South Africa — A sombre atmosphere enveloped Luckau village, outside Groblersdal, as family and friends gathered today to bid farewell to Tshiamo Moramaga (22) and Baleseng Moramaga (21) — the cousins who were tragically killed in a shooting incident in Mamelodi East last Sunday.

The two young women were found with fatal gunshot wounds in the early hours of 26 October 2025. A third victim, 27-year-old Desmond Senong, miraculously survived the attack and remains in hospital receiving treatment.
According to police reports, the shooting followed an argument at a local shisanyama and occurred as the group was walking home. Authorities have since arrested 38-year-old Tebogo Mnisi, who faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. He has been remanded in custody after withdrawing his bail application.
Speaking on behalf of the grieving family, Edward Moramaga described the depth of their pain:
“We’re having trouble sleeping at night, and our emotions are running high. It’s painful — and even more painful because we’re told it was done by one person,” he said.
Tshiamo was passionate about beauty therapy and nail art, while Baleseng was training to become a teacher. Relatives and friends described them as “pillars of strength and joy” in their family — making their loss all the more heartbreaking.
As hymns filled the Limpopo air, mourners embraced one another, united in grief and a shared call for justice.
