Tirelo faces backlash from viewers for staying with Mpumelelo despite repeated public humiliation.

Polygamist and businessman, Musa Mseleku, has revealed that Tirelo Kale’s parents rejected Mpumelelo Mseleku’s lobola proposal.

During the latest episode of the Izingane Zesthembu, Mseleku explained that Mpumelelo’s decision to pay lobola for Amahle Biyela was influenced by the fact that Kale’s family had declined the proposal.

The well-known polygamist said the Kale family expressed concerns about their daughter’s incomplete qualifications, unemployment, and the ongoing instability in her relationship with Mpumelelo.

Kale later confirmed the rejection during an Instagram Live session with her fans.

Mpumelelo, who is popularly known as Sbindi, paid lobola for his other girlfriend Amahle Biyela — a move that automatically makes Biyela his first wife in the eyes of custom, despite Tirelo having been with him much longer.

The lobola payment visibly upset Kale, especially after learning that another woman would assume the role of first wife.

Social media has since erupted, with Izingane Zesthembu viewers slamming Tirelo for choosing to stay in the relationship.

Many criticised her for tolerating Mpumelelo’s actions, including his public disrespect and emotional inconsistency. Some users questioned whether Tirelo truly loves herself.

Adding to the criticism, viewers pointed to past revelations — including that Mpumelelo occasionally fails to pay maintenance for their son, Singabakho Mseleku, and that he plans to move Tirelo to his father Musa Mseleku’s yellow homestead in Mzumbe, KwaZulu-Natal, should they marry.

However, fans of the show may recall that in the previous season, Mpumelelo had already hinted that he intended to pay lobola for someone outside his existing relationships with both Tirelo and Vuyokazi.

Despite all the backlash, Tirelo remains in the relationship — a decision that continues to divide opinion online.
