Idols SA Star Mthokozisi Ndaba and Actress Luthando “Nandipha” Ndaba Set to Divorce

Mthokozisi Ndaba is a South African R&B and soul musician, songwriter, and actor, best known for being the runner-up to winner Paxton Fielies on season 13 of Idols South Africa.

The 33-year-old KwaMashu-born songbird was shot during a mugging shortly after his successful Idols SA audition in 2017. After his time on the singing competition, Ndaba released several singles and albums, including the Nandipha EPin 2023, which was dedicated to his beloved wife, Nandipha Sefoloko Ndaba.

Nandipha Sefoloko Ndaba is a South African actress who is best known for her starring role as ‘Luthando’ inMzansi Magic’s popular film ‘Luthando’, which was produced in the year 2014.

On December 14, 2017, Mthokozisi Ndaba and Nandipha Sefoloko got married, and they were blessed with two boy children named Ksaselihle and Ksakhanya. The couple have been facing some challenges, but they’ve always stood in the name of love.

Later on, Mthokozisi ventured into acting; he appeared in the Mzansi Magic film Zimele and had a short stint on the TV series Uzalo. In addition to music and acting, he has worked as a radio personality and has been writing a book about his journey in the music industry.

Ndaba faced various personal struggles and legal issues; in 2022, he was accused of sexual harassment, an accusation he has reportedly denied. In February 2023, he spoke publicly about getting help for an alcohol abuse problem.

Ndaba’s wife, Nandipha Ndaba, has recently released a formal statement on social media announcing their divorce. She released it on the 12th of October 2025. The statement reads thus:

“Good morning.

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported us from the beginning. However, it is with great sadness that I must inform you of the decision made by Mthokozisi Ndaba and Nandipha Ndaba to file for divorce. We kindly ask for your respect regarding our decision during this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards, Nandipha and Mthokozisi Ndaba”
