JoJo Sejojo Steps Away from Social Media to Prioritize Mental Health and Family

Karabo “JoJo” Sejojo, who became a fan favourite on Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo, has announced that she is stepping away from social media for a while. The 27-year-old reality star and singer shared the emotional news with her fans on Monday, 30 June, saying she needs time to take care of herself and reconnect with her family.

JoJo shared a heartfelt message that touched many of her supporters. She said the decision was not easy, but it came after a lot of deep thinking.

“I’ll be taking a temporary break from social media to prioritise my well-being and spend meaningful time with my family,” she said. “This period of reflection and care is important to me, and I believe it’ll allow me to return with renewed clarity and strength.”

JoJo, who hails from Bloemhof in the North West, has been open about her journey since becoming one of the top five finalists on Big Brother Mzansi earlier this year. She quickly won people over with her strong personality, warm energy, and leadership on the show. During her time in the Big Brother house, she served as Head of House twice and earned the respect of many viewers.

In her message, she also thanked her supporters for being there for her throughout her rise to fame. “This decision has not been made lightly. I’m grateful for your continued support, understanding, and respect during this time. Your encouragement over the months has been a constant source of motivation, and I look forward to reconnecting with you all soon,” she wrote.

Even though she’s stepping away from the spotlight for now, JoJo’s journey is far from over. In April, she launched her music career with her debut single Ntliziyo Yami, which she described as a dream come true.

“From your screens to your speakers, my heart is in every word of this song. Ntliziyo Yami is finally here, my official debut single and the beginning of a dream I’ve held close for so long,” JoJo shared with excitement back then.

As she takes this break, JoJo encouraged her followers to be gentle with themselves and others. “Until then, please continue to be kind to yourselves and to one another,” she said.
