Lerato Kganyago’s husband Thami Ndlala faces R10m lawsuit over alleged assault

Metro FM presenter Lerato Kganyago’s husband, Thami Ndlala, and his real estate company are being sued for R10 million after a young woman was allegedly assaulted by a caretaker at one of his residential complexes, leaving her with permanent injuries.

Court documents filed in the Pretoria High Court reveal that 20-year-old Gift Kamogelo Modisha is holding Ndlala and his company, Ndlalayesizwe Real Estate, responsible for the violent December 2023 incident at their Hatfield property.

What Happened?

According to Modisha’s affidavit, she and her friends were swimming in the complex’s pool when they were confronted by a caretaker identified as Dlomo. The situation escalated, with Modisha claiming the caretaker became verbally abusive and then physically violent, attacking her with a wooden stick.

She alleges the assault left her with:

Modisha spent five days in the hospital and says she now suffers permanent disfigurement and disability, impacting her ability to work.

Why Ndlala and His Company Are Being Sued

Modisha’s legal team argues that Ndlala and his company failed in their duty to ensure tenant safety and are vicariously liable for the caretaker’s actions. The R10-million claim includes:

Ndlala and Ndlalayesizwe Real Estate have 30 days to respond to the lawsuit.
