Midrand Tragedy: Woman Granted R10,000 Bail After Stabbing Boyfriend to Death

A heartbreaking tragedy has rocked Midrand after 22-year-old Ntokoto Mabasa was granted R10,000 bail following allegations that she fatally stabbed her boyfriend, 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi.

The Fatal Night 😢

According to reports, Ntsanwisi — who worked at the Greater Giyani Municipality and was known as the breadwinner for his family — suffered fatal stab wounds during a dispute. Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.

Anger Outside Court 💔

Mabasa made her first court appearance at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court, where she was granted bail. Outside court, emotions ran high as family members, friends, and community members gathered with placards demanding justice.

One family member cried out:

“He supported us all… now he is gone, and she is walking free on bail!”

Calls for Justice 🔥

The community expressed outrage, saying that granting bail in such a case adds to their pain. They demanded that the justice system ensure accountability, especially since Ntsanwisi was the main provider for his family.

Case Postponed 📅

The case has been postponed to 25 November for Mabasa’s next appearance.
