Nompumelelo burnt by her boyfriend

Nompumelelo Gumede has passed away after she was allegedly burnt by her boyfriend.

A 21-year-old woman who was allegedly burnt by her boyfriend has succumbed to her injuries.

Nompumelelo Gumede from Emalahleni in Mpumalanga passed away on Sunday, 3 August.

Another victim, Mbali Bill (23) succumbed to her injuries on  Friday, 1 August.

Nompumelelo was allegedly attacked after her boyfriend texted her to leave her place. The boyfriend reportedly entered the house while she was getting dressed and Nompumelelo ran into another bedroom.

Nompumelelo then locked herself in the room. The boyfriend reportedly poured petrol under the door and set the room alight while Nompumelelo was in the room with his sister, Mbali.

The boyfriend is expected to appear in the Witbank Magistrates Court on Thursday, 7 August.
