Pearl Thusi Sets Paris Fashion Week Ablaze with Her Stunning Looks

Paris Fashion Week ended on a high note as global fashion lovers witnessed the final showcase of the Women’s Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collections — and South Africa proudly made its mark.

Maxhosa Africa, one of the most celebrated African fashion houses, revealed its latest collection titled Izipho Zabadala (“Gifts for the Ancestors”). The showcase was a vibrant celebration of African heritage and artistry. It also featured a powerful appearance by the legendary musician Yvonne Chaka Chaka, who graced the runway and captivated audiences with her timeless elegance. Adding to the magic, Zawadi YaMungu performed live during the show, blending music, culture, and couture in a performance that felt deeply rooted in South African spirit.

At the same time, another standout South African label, Imprint, took over Tranoï Paris Fashion Week SS26 with its latest chapter titled Silapha Nje Kungemithandazo: Chapter 2. Known for bold prints, Imprint once again proved that African fashion deserves a firm place on the world stage.

Among the stars who brought extra sparkle to the event were some of Mzansi’s finest — Pearl Thusi, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, and designer Laduma Ngxokolo. Each of them turned heads with their unique African flair, reminding the global audience that South African style is bold, sophisticated, and unapologetically authentic.

Laduma Ngxokolo, the creative force behind Maxhosa Africa, proudly shared a behind-the-scenes look at his preparations on Instagram. “IZIPHO ZABADALA/GIFTS FOR THE ANCESTORS’ SS25/26 showcase, 4th October 4pm,” he captioned his post, giving fans a glimpse into the artistry and emotion behind the runway moment.

Adding an exciting twist to the celebrations, media personality and actress Pearl Thusi took on a new role — as the guest DJ at the official Maxhosa Paris Fashion Week after-party. Known for her infectious energy and love for African creativity, Thusi brought her signature flair to the decks, turning the fashion event into a true celebration of African excellence.
