Remembering Vincent Maphopha — A Bright Soul Gone Too Soon
In a heartfelt farewell, the community of Motetema, Ward 31, under the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality, gathered today to lay to rest Vincent Mojakgomo Maphopha, a 24-year-old young man whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident near Polokwane on Friday, October 31, 2025.

Vincent worked as a driver for Limpopo musician Kharishma while pursuing his studies at the University of Limpopo, where he was a third-year BSc Plant Production student.
His sudden passing has left a deep void among his family, friends, and fellow students, who remember him for his bright smile, humility, and strong work ethic. The same accident also left musician Kharishma in the ICU, where she continues to receive medical care.
The funeral drew a large crowd of mourners, including university students, colleagues, and members of the local community, all united in grief and love for the young man who touched so many hearts.
“We’ve lost someone truly special — a young man full of dreams and determination,” said one of Vincent’s university friends during the service.
May Vincent’s soul rest in peace, and may his loved ones find comfort during this difficult time. The community also continues to pray for Kharishma’s full recovery.
