RIP: Iconic South African commentator passes away
SuperSport has announced that legendary commentator and sports anchor Phumlani Msibi has sadly passed away.

The 57-year-old, who was born in Durban, passed away after a short illness on Friday, 20 June 2025.

“SuperSport is saddened to learn of the passing of legendary sports commentator, presenter and anchor Phumlani Msibi,” It was announced on X.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and colleagues following this great loss.”
Msibi made his name in both boxing and football, where he come up with his famous saying, “Coach, thoughts please?” in post-match interviews in the Premier Soccer League.
