Skeem Saam actress breaks boundaries

ACTRESS reaches a new milestone in her career.

Koketso Machaka has officially made her TV acting debut on one of Mzansi’s most-loved shows, Skeem Saam.

The 26-year-old actress plays Nthati, the fiancee of DJ Thomas. But things aren’t as smooth as they seem. Nthati is walking into a love triangle, not knowing that her man is also involved with Mapitsi, a married woman.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Koketso who is from Ga-Mashashane in Limpopo, shared how it feels to finally land her first big role.

“It’s exciting and also nerve-wracking. I was nervous because I never actually thought I’d become Nthati so soon.”

Whilst this is her first time playing a main character, she’s not completely new to the screen.

“I’ve worked as an extra for a long while, but this is my first time being a character,” she said.

She’s also loving the experience of working with the Skeem Saam cast.

“It’s been amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I grew up watching them on TV, so to now work alongside them is just special,” she said.

Koketso said she’s grateful for the opportunity and hopes viewers will enjoy Nthati’s journey.

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for me. I’m truly humbled and ready to bring this character to life,” she said.
