Stephanie Ndlovu Breaks Her Silence on Online Bullying After Divorce from Hungani

Actress and casting director Stephanie Ndlovu has spoken out about the harsh bullying she’s been receiving on social media after announcing her separation from actor Hungani Ndlovu. The couple, once admired for their love story and joint YouTube channel, confirmed their divorce on Sunday, explaining that while their marriage is ending, their friendship and commitment to co-parenting their daughter, Rhulani, remain strong.

But just days after the announcement, Stephanie felt the need to speak up due to the growing negativity and false assumptions shared online. On Wednesday, she posted a deeply emotional video where she opened up about how much the public backlash has hurt her.

“I have endured the level of bullying that I have never experienced in my life,” Stephanie said. “I have been dragged, told the kind of mother I am and the kind of wife I was. For the most part I turned off the comments, blocked and deleted some. But I am finding myself in a position where I need to say something because it is getting out of hand.”

Stephanie, known for her role as Ingrid on Scandal!, said that some people have also dragged others into her private matters—people who had absolutely nothing to do with the breakup. One of them is her close friend and fellow actress, Petronella Tshuma.

“You guys are attacking her character, her as a mother and as a person. You are finding every single loophole to reach her no matter how much we are trying to navigate this,” she said. “And I do not think it’s fair that she must stay off social media or she should change how she wants to do things just because of the lies that are being spread. Please, just stop. If you guys could leave Petronella alone, I would really appreciate it.”

Stephanie’s video comes as a strong message to those spreading rumours and judging her without knowing the full story. She expressed how deeply unfair it is that she and people she cares about are being targeted during such a sensitive time.

In the couple’s joint statement, Stephanie and Hungani explained that their decision to separate came after “much thought, reflection, and conversations.” They also addressed the fact that they had hoped to share the news on their own terms, but were forced to speak earlier due to media leaks.

“We are committed to showing up as a united team for our beautiful daughter. To raising her with the same care, intention, and joy she has always known,” the statement read. “Though our marriage is ending, our friendship is not.”

The pair, who built a strong following through their joint YouTube channel, are now asking for privacy, kindness, and understanding from the public as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
