WATCH | LaConco Shuts Down Rumours: “I Didn’t Go to Dr Pert to Dunuza!”
“Ngwanyana ke body!”
These words echoed through the air during the funeral service of celebrity surgeon, Dr Pert, which was held in Hammanskraal, north of Tshwane on Saturday, 9 August.
The 40-year-old, whose real name was Pertunia Mathibe, was honoured by clients, friends and family — many of whom arrived dressed in sleek black outfits that proudly showed off the snatched waists and African curves she had become famous for sculpting.
Dr Pert was founder of the Dr Pert Centre for Body Sculpting, specialising in advanced body contouring procedures such as liposuction and the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Her clinic also offered hormone therapy, laser hair removal and anti-ageing treatments.
She rose to fame through her work with high-profile clients, including reality TV stars, Lethabo “LeJoy” Mathatho, Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco and Dineo Moloisane.
Speaking at the funeral, LaConco shared how Dr Pert helped shape her body and boost her confidence.
“I’m disappointed because I don’t see the work displayed here. Today I told myself that I’m going to wear a dress that shows what Dr Pert has done to me. Guys please, don’t joke with this lady,” she said.
She also recalled the first time she met Dr Pert, expressing her immediate trust in the surgeon.
“Dr Pert came, she was wearing a Versace shirt, eating cotton. I then asked if she was the Dr and when they confirmed I said oh God loved me because I’m going to look beautiful because such a snatched woman is going to do my body,” she said.
LaConco went on to address misconceptions about cosmetic surgery.
“People get shocked that I’m always covered up, I didn’t go to Dr Pert to dunuza and expose my body. I did it so that when I’m wearing a dress it sits well,” she said.

Another client, who also attended the service, said Dr Pert changed her life.
“She made sure that when she touches your body, you come out as a different person. She would ask questions like why do you want to do this procedure and that’s important because she wanted to make sure she changes lives,” she said.
Dr Pert’s childhood friend, Bernica shared that she too was a client. “I was never like this before, she had made me and brought my confidence back,” she said.
Another friend, Dipuo Khumalo revealed that she played a key role in Dr Pert’s transition into plastic surgery.
“When I was in Miami for my mommy makeover, she asked me to take a video of everything — even a single paper — so that she can do the same thing.
“She loved surgery and was passionate about it and when I went to America she said that she has found what she wanted. She said that she wanted to change the bodies of Africans and bring confidence in women back and be the queen of BBL,” she said.
